What's Haribagh about?

We are as much about sustainability, recreation and relaxation as we are a space for cultivation. Cultivation of food, and cultivation of the human mind.

Haribagh is an inter-disciplinary farm near Jaipur. Or should we call it trans-disciplinary? There's a difference, and perhaps we'll get to it at some point. For now, all we want you to know is that we are not just a farm, but farming is core to us.

While the organic farm showcases experiments in various approaches to natural farming, it also offers (and will have more of these) creative experiences and rural getaways, and aims to further mindful and academic thinking.

Winter harvest.
Seeding season.

It’s a space for cultivation: cultivation of food, as much as the cultivation of the human mind. We believe that nothing exists in isolation and that the broader contours of the world, our experiences and practices overlap. There are dots we are always trying to connect.

Just as we all contain multiple characteristics, the farm offers something for everyone – be it a weekend of unwinding amidst the fields and harmless fun, or an explorative interaction with rural India or perhaps a longer journey of contemplation and enquiry.
The journey began in 2018, on a small, irregular-shaped piece of land, 35-km outside Jaipur.

On the agricultural front, the journey started in 2018 on a small, irregular-shaped piece of land, 35-km outside Jaipur. That's when Haribagh was physically born, but thoughts and experiences that shape our actions at Haribagh are much older, they are an aggregate of how we've seen the world, lived our lives and evolved, and what dreams we have for our collective future.

As as we learn more about the various schools of natural and organic farming, we are experimenting and adopting the practices that best suit our soil and climate. No outside additives or chemicals are used on the farm and we harvest and store lakhs of litres of rainwater – a precious commodity in Rajasthan, and increasingly the world over.

Aligned to those ideals of sustainability, the farm also houses a (currently under construction) space being built with rammed earth aimed at hosting fellow lovers of farming, slow living and creativity who’d like to enjoy the great outdoors as well. A lot of the building material for that has come from the farm itself.

The space will be ready by late 2021, and is aimed at farm-stays, workshops and residencies, and occasional picnics. There'll be more along the way.

And while we crave those offline interactions and real experiences, we also value the power of online connections and collaborations that shape our world.

This online space is a digital manifestation of what we envision at Haribagh with a focus on sustainability, mindful living and community engagement.
